HTMC: Mount Olympus 6/26/11

Jun 26 Sun 8AM @ Palace MT. OLYMPUS

(6 Mi/ Intermediate/Ridge/St. Louis Hts.)

A “fav” town hike with good parking, a good aerobic workout, and even “gooder” views. The cool air under the tall pines make for great “after hike” socializing.

Coordinator Steve Davis, steve.davis@htmclub.org(preferred) or 371-1492.

HTMC: Kamanaiki 6/18/11

Jun 18 Sat 8AM @ Palace KAMANAIKI

(6 Mi/Intermediate/Valley-Ridge/Kalihi)

We'll climb the long staircase up to the ridge overlooking Kalihi Valley. After some ups and downs, and wides and narrows, we reach a scenic spot overlooking the Kalihi curtain, as the pali was known in the old days.

Jun 12 Sun 8:30AM WAI’ANAE RAMBLE

No Meeting @ Palace – Meet @ 8:30 @ Waianae Steve’s

(8 Mi/Intermediate/Ridge/Valley/Waianae)

Ramble across most of Waianae Valley, from the Lualualei overlook to Ala Kepau ridge (where the road and trail end). You'll see coffee, ironwood, lemon eucalyptus, allspice, sisal, and other strange sights, such as streams w/running water, terraces built by the ancient Hawaiians and the house site of the Waianae Plantation manager.  Just follow the yellow markers, or you may get lost at the many intersections.

Coordinator Steve Rohrmayr, ph 696-4746.
