A hell of a workout on the many ups and downs of this loop hike amongst the sandalwood (iliahi) trees.  Starts out from the Manana trailhead but quickly descends from the power line down to the valley crossing the stream, climbs up to the ridge, descends to the stream again, then climbs up and out to the Manana trailhead just before the picnic table.  Listen to the coordinator's instructions because there are three bailouts on this trail.

This trail is as long as it's name!  Starting in Moanalua Valley, there's a 2 mile road walk before even getting to the actual trailhead.  Then climb steeply to Tripler Ridge, cross the Ko’olau summit, descend the Middle Ridge, and repeat the 2 mile road walk out.  Hazards include narrow sections with steep drop offs.

Wear a wide brimmed hat for this hot and sunny walk along the road which follows the top of this peninsula.  Look up and north to see Koko Crater, then down and east to see Hanauma Bay from a different perspective.
